Jefferson's Optic
Mary Lou Decoration
Cruet
$ 75

This is a Victorian Cruet and was made by Jefferson Glass Co.  Circa 1900.  It is very seldom seen.  We have read that this pattern is called the Mary Lou decoration and is Jefferson's Optic mold.  (aka Jefferson's Tiny Optic). This unusual Burnt Orange color with yellow scrolls is the only color in this decor that we have seen for this cruet.  The decor is hard to describe.  Some think the enamel decoration is of bird feathers and others think it might be clouds.  Original Stopper. Very good condition with no chips or cracks.  The white spots you see above the decor are from our flood lights, but they do show the optic panels. Ht. 7 1/2".

Notice how close this is to the white decoration style sometimes seen on Northwood's Alaska Pattern.
