This is a miniature lamp with  the glassware decorated by C F Monroe. Hand painted ware like this is from their Wave Crest line.  We do not know if this was originally made as a lamp or if it was a salt shaker that someone made into a lamp a long time ago.  If the plaster holding the top on is new and fresh, one should be careful to pay lamp prices for it.  The plaster for this one looks old but difficult to tell if it is original without taking it apart and that would ruin the proof that it is a lamp if it is.  Whichever it is, it is a nice piece of Wave Crest.  The decoration is rare in our experience.  Please scroll down and see the copy of the catalog reprint which shows this glass as a shaker made by C F Monroe, circa 1896.
