This is a Victorian miniature lamp base called "Drape". It is satinized, cased glassware. The glass is pink, with a layer of clear glass which has been exposed to hydrofluoric acid fumes to provide a beautiful satin finish. Attributed to Consolidated Lamp & Glass Co, circa 1890's. The threads of collar are bent. The glass is in the shape of a cube, 3 1/2 in. on a side. |
