Hollow Hob Pitcher
65

We believe this to be a very rare Victorian pitcher. Green glass shading to amethyst at the bottom.  We tried to use a white paper to show the amethyst but were not very successful. This piece is called Hollow Hob because the hobs are hollow, i.e. the piece was mold blown. We only found reference to this in an old antique book on art glass.  It was listed as rare then.  We have never seen another. We believe this is early Victorian or older.  However there was no other information provided so we know little about it. Height is about 8 1/4 inches.

The pitcher has a very small nick where the handle joins the body.  However, this has caused the effect shown in the close up photo. It only covers the bottom side of the handle for about an 1/8 of an inch.
