Scrolled Rib sugar shaker or muffineer made by Gillinder & Sons. This shaker is shown in an 1897 ad from China Glass and Lamps and called Gillinder No. 418. (see p86 Heacock Vol. III). Only the sugar shaker and salt shaker are known. Those familiar with Gillinder know that they were makers of some of the beautiful Victorian era glassware but somehow their colored opalware and satin decorated wares have not received their deserved attention to date.  This shaker is a light greenish color with a little more yellow in it than the picture shows. It is in excellent condition except the metal top shows typical ware with small dents, corrosion and a small piece missing on the bottom thread of the top.
