Lattice Thumbprint in Metal Frame Sugar $ 175 |

|
Beautiful Victorian Amber Covered Sugar in a nice Silver castor with Silver lid. The pattern is called Lattice Thumbprint and was made by Central Glass Co. Circa 1880's. It is also known as Rope and Thumbprint. There is no name on the metal as it has recently been silvered and the name probably covered. It could have been made be any of the well known metal houses such as Meriden, Barbour Bros. Derby or Wilcox. We thought it might be a marriage, but the sugar fits so tight and snug, we are sure it was sold this way. As you can see by the pics below, it fits perfect into this metal holder and the lid is an exact fit. Ht. of the sugar is 4 3/4", but when it is in the caster holder it is 5 1/2". The Glass Sugar and the metal are in Excellent Condition. |
