Victorian Opalware Wavecrest Sugar in the Helmschmeid Swirl design.  It is a Very Rare early decoration, of C. F. Monroe, which you don't see often. This sugar bowl has a  colorful transfer decor of Toadstools. Colors are reds, greens and browns.  Decor is on the front and back as shown below in our pics. Circa 1900. Shown in Cohen's comprehensive  Wave Crest book, pg. 62. Metal is in very good condition as is the Sugar Bowl with no chips, cracks or flakes on the glass. Ht. 3 1/4".
