Dithridge Shakers Shown in Catalog |
| Thanks to the West Virginia Museum of Glass and their new publication: "All About Glass" more of the shakers we all collect have a "pedigree". They recently acquired a rare Dithridge Catalog. An exciting find for Victorian glass collectors in general and salt shaker collectors in particular. To order this catalog and/or to become a member, go to the WV Glass site via the Links page. |
| The following shakers are pictured in the catalog reprint on page 28, Vol 1 No.2, "All About Glass", WV Museum of American Glass |

Dithridge Number 101 1/2 |
| The "Tapered Neck" shakers shown below are now known to be Dithridge. Up to now, the "Tapered Neck" shakers only had an attribution to Mt Washington, Smith Brothers, or Sandwich based upon decor. However a few had decors that did not seem to fit those makers. Plus, the green tint in the glass has always been a mystery. From the catalog, it may be possible to attribute other shakers (e.g. some Creased Neck) to Dithridge. |

Shaker No. 80 - The very light green tint to the body of the shaker is correct. It is not decor but glass color. |
Shaker No. 80 - Also a very slight green tint in the glass but less than it's mate. |
