Mt Washington's "Squatty Lobe" Salt Shakers |
| These shakers were named by Peterson, "Glass salt
Shakers, 1000 Patterns". They are known in Decorated Satin Glass
and in rare cases of Decorated Opalware (Shiny). The satin shakers have
a two piece top. The shiny shakers have a one piece top. It is not
known if the tops on the shiny shakers are original.
It is difficult to distinguish the time frame of manufacture and attribution to Mt Washington, Pairpoint, or Smith Brothers. The Mt Washington attribution is based upon the Fuchsia decoration known on other Mt Washington salt and sugar shakers. Pictures are shown to show some of the decorations which can be found. |
